Grants for organisations

Wellbeing Fund

HWCT is currently accepting applications for programmes, projects, or organisational work that improve mental and/or physical health outcomes for people living within our Area of Benefit. This may include direct service delivery, preventative activities, community-based programmes, or organisational development where there is a clear link to improving wellbeing outcomes.

Before you apply
Before completing an application, organisations must first contact HWCT by email at [email protected] to discuss their proposed application. This helps ensure that proposals align with HWCT’s current priorities, funding programmes, and available budget.

As part of this initial enquiry, organisations should briefly outline:

  • the work or project they are seeking funding for
  • the approximate amount requested
  • the beneficiaries the work will support

Following receipt of this information, HWCT may provide feedback by email and, where appropriate, arrange a further discussion before inviting a full application. Before completing an application, organisations should also read HWCT’s current (available on our website here) to ensure that the proposal aligns with the Trust’s mission, priorities, and values.

What we expect in a strong application
A strong application will clearly describe the work for which funding is being sought and explain the difference it will make to beneficiaries within HWCT’s Area of Benefit. Applications should demonstrate evidence of need, which may include insight from people with lived experience, local community feedback, referrals, waiting lists, or relevant local or national data. Applicants should also explain:

  • how the proposal aligns with HWCT’s current strategy and funding priorities
  • why HWCT is an appropriate funder for the work
  • how the organisation will measure and demonstrate the impact of the funding

How to apply
To apply, please email your completed application form and all required supporting documents to [email protected] HWCT does not accept applications by post. Applications are reviewed through a structured assessment process and funding decisions are made by the Trustee Board at scheduled meetings. Please ensure that applications are submitted by the relevant deadline listed below.

To support organisations applying we have provided a sample completed application form. This is intended as a guide to help you understand the type of information we are looking for and how to structure your responses.
