About Us:
Hampstead Wells and Campden Trust (HWCT) is a grantmaking charity dedicated to alleviating poverty and advancing health in North West Camden (NW3, NW6, and parts of NW2 and NW8).  Our budget comes from an investment portfolio (rather than from fund raising) and last year, we awarded grants totaling over £700,000.

Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking new members who may have professional skills (including legal, accountancy, HR, charity sector and mental health experience) or lived experience, and with a real wish to contribute to the effective delivery of HWCT’s charitable objects.   Our ideal trustee will bring:

  • Broad Insight: Bring a strong understanding of social issues that are relevant both locally and in wider communities, whether through personal or professional experience in relevant sectors.
  • Commitment: Dedicate time and energy to actively participate in board activities and meetings.
  • Experience: Contribute knowledge and experience in poverty alleviation (e.g. debt advice) and health issues, particularly mental health.
  • Professional Skills: Enhance our board with professional expertise in areas such as finance, legal or community outreach.

Commitment Details:
Trustees are appointed for a three-year term, renewable up to two times.

The Board and Finance sub-committee, meet quarterly with half the meetings held in person in the early evening or morning and the other half online, alongside an annual away day..

Trustees serve on a voluntary basis, but travel expenses to meetings are reimbursed.
