News November 2021

There continues to be a large demand for our individual grants. In the last few months we have provided funds for the following:

5 washing machines, 9 beds and mattresses, 6 fridge freezers, 8 general furniture items, 11 cookers, 3 tablets/laptops, 4 school uniforms, 3 sets of children’s clothing and various other items and contributions to everyday costs.

The Trust has provided small organisational grants to two local organisations recently:

  • £2,000 to the Camden Psychotherapy Unit for work with clients in our area of benefit
  • £1,560 to KIDSOut for children’s packs in local hostels

and recent larger grants awarded have included:

  • £10,000 to SHAK in Kilburn for their Youth Work programme
  • £7,500 to the West Hampstead Women’s Centre towards their advice and advocacy work.

Our ‘Starter Pack’ pilot project with five local hostels and sheltered housing schemes is underway. We hope these grants will enable people leaving temporary accommodation and moving into permanent homes without basic household items, to make a positive start to independent living.
