Demand for our individual grants continues to be high and we are managing to have a quick turnaround on these with decisions usually made within a maximum of two weeks and payments made shortly after. The most requested items are currently beds, fridge freezers, cookers and basic furniture items. Applications are coming in from families, older people and individuals, many living in temporary or unsuitable accommodation and struggling with multiple physical and mental health issues.

From our Large Grants budget we have allocated the following grants recently:

£12,500 towards the continuation of the Debt Advice North Camden project run by Citizens Advice Camden

£10,000 to XLP (The eXcel Project) for youth work in our area of benefit with disadvantaged school age children in partnership with local schools.

£10,000 to the successful and well used West Hampstead Community Support and Skills Exchange Hub run from Sidings Community Centre

From our Small Organisational Grants fund we have been able to contribute £1,000 to Family Action for their Friendship Works Service which provides a mentoring service for disadvantaged children in our area.
